Gran Hotel Sol y Mar
The wedding of Janet and Shawn took place at the lovely venue Gran Hotel Sol y Mar in Calpe, Costa Blanca. Janet’s Portuguese family flew over for this special occasion. The rest of the guests came from the UK and Spain. They have three amazingly intelligent kids. One was playing the piano (just started learning to play the piano) as if it was nothing! Their older son made a poem which he read out loud and he made everybody cry. And the eight month old well ….he was just his handsome self, such a little poser.
The photos started at Janet’s room for the bridal prep shots. She wore a beautiful Pronovias wedding dress and Jimmy Choo’s.
The ceremony
The bride and groom had their ceremony outside near the infinity pool at the Champagne bar. It was a gorgeous setting, Reverend Eddie Martens conducted the service which as always was done with lo ts of humor. Their videography was done by Claudia and Miguel from WOW wedding media. They did an amazing job! Their trailer is sooo good, as always a big hand for my buddies.
After the ceremony we stayed at the Champagne bar for some nibbles and drinks. Meanwhile we (Andrew of AJ photography and myself) took them apart to shoot some B&G photos . Afterwards we all went to the hotel where the bride and groom were welcomed with champagne. The dining room was set up really lovely. The kids had a separate table and kids entertainment. They kept them busy all night with face painting, a bouncy castle, Wii and other games.
Shawn and Janet did their opening dance on one of my favorite songs of R.Kelly, Love letter. After dinner Shawn had a surprise for his wife. He arranged a display of lots and lots firework!! They danced the night away and everybody enjoyed their BIG day!
